On April 30, it was confirmed that there will be some sort of "adventure" aspect to Eden where there will be rare collectables, [[Shiny Cubes]], that you can place in empty worlds and can be found in the normal worlds. This is to encourage the exploration of goal-oriented maps. There will also be aggressive creatures ([[Charger]]) and a health system based on modern FPS games where if you take enough damage in a certain time period, you'll die. Health can be toggled on and off.

[[Half Blocks]] were also confirmed. There will also be a completely redone terrain generator, which could possibly include naturally flowing lava and water. Newly confirmed blocks are small blocks which are 1/8 the size of a normal block (it takes eight of them to equal one normal block) and large blocks which are the size of 8 normal blocks. You press a button in the block menu to toggle the size of the block you're placing. The save/exit/camera tools will now have their own menu aside from the blocks screen.

*November 23: Ari released a third picture of the mystery red world, with contained not only dark stone arches, but also a pyramid-esque structure with lava pouring out of it. It was identified as a work-in-progress volcano. This could mean that you could choose more than just normal or flat, e.g. Mars, island. This confirms the addition of this red world and an addition to the game and confirms lava's presence as a naturally occuring block.

Future Updates

File:Eden doors and sky.jpg

Like previously said, there are doors and you can color the sky.

On the official Eden Facebook page, the developers announced that the next highly anticipated update, update 2.0 is set to come by the end of the year 2012.  They said the update should have "big engine improvements (no more in-game loading and graphics improvements), Fireworks, portals, steel block, half-size blocks, double-size blocks, completely redone terrain-gen, paint bombs, colored lighting, treasure collecting and more polish, sound and music, new creatures, doors, and more. Doors automatically open when you get close to them. It has also been confirmed that you can color the sky in the new update.

On April 30, it was confirmed that there will be some sort of "adventure" aspect to Eden where there will be rare collectables, Treasure Crystals, that you can place in empty worlds and can be found in the normal worlds. This is to encourage the exploration of goal-oriented maps. There will also be aggressive creatures (Charger) and a health system based on modern FPS games where if you take enough damage in a certain time period, you'll die. Health can be toggled on and off.

Half Blocks were also confirmed.

The confirmed Steel Block is immune to TNT blasts.

Paint Bombs also work by coloring TNT and then, when it explodes, it colors the blocks all around it the color that you painted it instead of destroying the blocks.

Controls will also be tightened and the icons for fire, pickaxe, painting, block, & jump will all be revamped and look sleeker.

Also, in the top left corner, there will be a gears icon, which is the settings button.

Portals have also been announced for better traveling. They will, according to Ari, operate based on the color they are painted. For example, this may mean if you paint a portal red, then the next portal painted red will connect with the other portal you painted red. However, we cannot be sure exactly how portals will work.

On May 26, fireworks were confirmed by Ari and will work similarly to TNT. They will come in a crate-like block that you light on fire and they shoot up into the sky. They will then explode into a firework-like display.

The creators have announced at the high possibility of a second new creature to accompany Charger and possibly some new 'skins' as Ari put it. This hints at the possibility of texture packs. On July 2, Ari announced that 2.0 might be the last major update of Eden because he is becoming "happy with where Eden is standing on iOS." This doesn't necessarily mean that Kingly Games will cease to work on Eden, this just states that all future updates will be small and most likely patches, but it doesn't completely rule out the possibility of smaller content updates. The part of the statement "happy with where Eden is standing on iOS" also hints at the fact of its (Eden) release for other things like the Android Market, which has been in extremely high demand. These statements do cast a lot of doubt on the highly demanded multiplayer, however, for the future.

With the release of a photo of the new block selector, and through talking with fans, it is confirmed that users will be able to place the treasure crystals. They will probably be able to be placed once they are collected, though it is unsure it the user has to collect them all before they can place any or not.

As of late (beginning of November), many new thigs have been confirmed and or released in a firestorm of news from Ari and Steve:

  • October 24: Picture of Charger is released.
  • October 26: A picture of what looks like a (brightly colored) cave, giving way to speculation of the return of caves
  • October 31: Ari stated he was playing around with terrain generator and released a picture of a red stone landscape.
  • November 3: A picture of the red stone landscape is re-uploaded, but this time, one can see a lava lake and black stone arches throughout the landscape, hinting at a new biome or world.
  • November 4: The first true picture of the new terrain gen was released. The generated terrain had more varrying elevation and coloring in the grass and water, which, when released, will effectivly make water a naturally occuring block.
  • November 5: Ari stated, "I'm trying to make mountains but there's not enough room, someone should really increase the height limit!" This gave way to the fact that the building height limit was increased.
  • November 6: Ari released the first picture of mountains. They are the largest generated structures in the game so far and are snow-capped with ice at the base of them. Ari stated, "First attempt at mountains. The ice at the bottom is fun to slide on."
  • November 8: Ari posted a picture of ice slides in square shapes and connected to each other. Ari said, "I wrote some code to generate ice tracks today. Just turns right now, i'll try adding slides/ramps later. [I] should be able to use the code to make natural looking ice slides in the terrain gen." This, along with mountains, makes ice a naturally occuring block.
  • November 12: Ari released a picture of a new biome, which completely confirms the fact that biomes will occur in the 2.0 terrain gen. This was a tropical biome that consisted of sand, light blue lakes/oceans of water, and new types of trees, which have wood planks as trunks. Ari said he doesn't like the way the trees looked at the time of posting, which shows that he was still designing these trees.
  • November 16: Ari released a picture of another biome that shows dark grass, a river, and some stone hills.
  • November 23: Ari released a third picture of the mystery red world, with contained not only dark stone arches, but also a pyramid-esque structure with lava pouring out of it. It was identified as a work-in-progress volcano. This could mean that you could choose more than just normal or flat, e.g. Mars, island. This confirms the addition of this red world and an addition to the game and confirms lava's presence as a naturally occuring block.
  • December 14: Ari told the community that flowers will now pop out of the ground, as opposed to being just a texture on a grass block, and that there is a new creature named Stalker, supposedly aggressive, but no picture has been released. They also stated that the coloring of certain things, such as creatures, would be improved and that the fire animation is being revamped for a third time.
  • December 15: Ari confirmed that there will be an adventure mode where there are dungeons with treasure crystals in them, and there is an optional damage system, where the user will take damage but it will regenerate. Once you are hit enough at once, your screen will go black, you will faint, and you will respawn at your spawn point (your set home). Ari also pointed out that most of the more ambitious additions to this mode will have to be cut out for update 2.0 and added in for a later update, such as cooler looking Dungeons.

In the comments, Steve, angered at many people's impatience, stated that they would post on the Eden Facebook page when the update will be shipped out.
