Eden World Builder is a block-based sandbox building game for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch[1]. Eden was created by Ari Ronen, and his company Kingly Software Inc, better known as Kingly Games. It was open sourced in early 2018 and is now being developed by the community.. Since its release in 2010, it has sold over three million copies.

The gameplay consists of a player controlled avatar which can freely roam a "Normal World", or a "Flat World." The player can destroy blocks with a pickaxe, burn certain flammable blocks, Paint blocks, and interact with certain blocks, such as Ladders or Doors, to explore the game. There is no story line in the game and the only objective is to build.

FeaturesEdit

BlocksEdit

One of the main features in Eden are the Blocks, which allow the user to build.

CreaturesEdit

Eden features seven unique Creatures that the player can interact with. Some creatures are naturally aggressive while others are passive. They can be saved by tapping on them with a block and placing them in a new place.

ToolsEdit

Eden features several "tools" that allow the player to perform tasks such as destroying and painting blocks.

TriviaEdit

  • The name "Eden" is likely derived from the Garden of Eden[2], which is described as the site of the Earth's creation in Judaeo-Christian traditions.
  • Eden has sold over three million copies as of December 2017 and was often found on the Top 100 apps list on the iTunes store.
  • Eden was released several months before Minecraft Pocket Edition making it one of the first sandbox building games for iOS.
  • Eden was briefly owned by Pixowl Inc, the creators of the popular mobile and PC game, The Sandbox.
  • In January 2018, Eden's source code was open-sourced to the public and can be freely used by any independent developers.
